Tony Hawk’s Project 8 (Xbox 360) Customer Review: DO NOT BUY!
The tony hawks games have all been real masterpieces… Except this one. This one is too focused on the realism and it loses touch with the skating. The numerous impossible missions that have been added only add to the frustration that this game produces.

Definitely one of the worst Tony Hawks Games to date. Stick to American wasteland.
Customer Review: Buy SKATE instead!
I got this when it first came out, and enjoyed it for a few months. All the usual THPS features were there, along with the new “nail the trick feature,” giving you slow-mo control of the characters’ feet. As with most THPS games though, the challenges get repetitive and once you get the hang of it you can complete the game fairly easily.

After getting SKATE a few months ago I have lost all interest in Project 8, finding it clunky and, to be honest, a bit boring. The level of detail and control is nowhere near SKATE and you don’t get nearly as much of a sense of achievement out of the whole thing.

THPS9 better take the series to a whole new level otherwise it’s going to die a slow, undignified death.

Customer Review: Brillaint
I owned this game sometime ago, and i have to say it was one of the finest single player games i’ve played in a longtime. The cover system works a charm and if you haven’t played it buy it now before G.O.W 2 comes out.

By the way, little cheeky here but head to Blockbuster have just seen they’re selling it for 9.99 brand new… can’t believe the pre-owned version haven’t come down in price yet…
Customer Review: Gears Gears Gears - Just so much fun
To start off, I have played this game so much that it is worth every penny that I paid for it. The game is absolutely terrific. I have played it through on all of the difficulties, expect the casual (easy) option as I started off playing Hardcore and found that more of a challenge.

Playing through the single player is so much fun when playing in co-op. I believe that the game was designed to be played in co-op and honestly the gameplay works really well and the co-op play is so interesting when playing the single player campaign on the hardest difficulty.

Stepping aside from the single player you have multiplayer where the fun continues again. Battling other players across Xbox Live is so fun and the game has so much to offer, its worth the price they charge for it. The graphics are totally some of the best in the industry and rank at the top. If your a shooting fan, you can’t possibly be disappointed with this.

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition (Xbox 360)

Phantasy Star Universe (Xbox 360) -

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition (Xbox 360) With the Xbox 360 still selling like two week old sushi in Japan, Capcom remains Microsoft’s biggest supporter from the land of the rising uppercut. Realising there’s no point trying to appeal to the local market their games so far have all been very much Western in style, as exemplified by the well-received Dead Rising. This was intended as a third person take on Halo and even though the similarities are ultimately minor it’s still one of the 360’s best action games. Like most Capcom games the story (and particularly dialogue and voiceovers) is not one of the game’s best features, but thankfully there’s not much that needs explaining when you’re fighting monster bugs and giant robot riding snow pirates.

Like Halo you can have only two weapons at a time and use a recharging shield. This though is powered by an always decreasing supply of thermal energy, topped up from defeated enemies. Apart from this the only other piece of gadgetry you have to help you is a grappling hook, although it remains largely underused in the single player campaign. The various mechs you can commandeer are a great deal of fun though, with different variants being able to jump, hover or transform into vehicles. Graphically the game is excellent, with some awesomely large Starship Troopers style bugs and possibly the best explosions ever in gaming.

Where the game gets into trouble is the brevity of the single player campaign. Although this is compensated by the online multiplayer mode, even that cannot overcome the game’s innate simplicity. Complexity, or even longevity, is not what this game is about though and in terms of offering plenty of big dumb fun it succeeds admirably.

Customer Review: So Much Potential….but ..so Average
Okay I bought this game hoping for something different with stunning graphics and great surroundings and good gameplay however, it has to be said - this had none of them. Right fronm the start the game is boring and ordinarily average. The 3rd person view is so far away it makes shotting 10 times harder than it should be.
I really wanted to enjoy this game but I didn’t.
Not reccomended.
Customer Review: Mutton dressed as lamb …
I ordered this game expecting something epic. What I got was something … not. Don’t get me wrong, it looks (as countless others have stated) quite simply breathtaking, but I’m afraid in this case it’s just mutton dressed as lamb.

So what’s wrong with it? Well, for one thing there’s no save option, and the game only auto-saves at the end of each mission. I read a review where someone said that it could take up to 2 hours to complete missions, and at the time thought it couldn’t POSSIBLY take that long. How wrong I was. Some even took longer. That’s all right if you’re a hard-core gamer, but for the short-session gamer its a bit too much to suffer.

The other major let-down was the scripting for the cutscenes. Although the plot itself isn’t bad, the cutscenes were almost painful to watch, with consistently twee, puerile and in places unbelievably cheesy (’I WILL kill Isenberg!!’) dialogue. It wasn’t the content that was wrong - it was the tone.

I personally also loathed the constantly re-spawning baddies, forcing you into a ‘duck and dive’ style of gameplay. When I shoot the bad guys, I like ‘em dead. Period.

If I’d played a demo I wouldn’t have bothered with the game. I even considered not bothering to finish it, but as my obsessive nature wouldn’t permit that, I played on expecting there would at least be a satisfying ending. Wrong again. Gameplay stops, there’s a pathetic attempt at a plot tie-up, then the credits roll.

All in all, unless you like games where you endlessly shoot things for no apparent reason, and are prepared to put in long sessions, I suggest you give this one a wide berth.
