This game is brilliant. Plenty of races to compete in, and lots great cars to use. I got this game for christmas and was on on it as soon as i could turn my console on. At first i didn’t enjoy it very different from all the others you really feel the car were as in the other need for speed titles you don’t particullary, I feel as if need for speed titles needed spicing up and they have done it superbley. Drifting and Drag racing return with 2 new types of racing Grip which is essentially circuit racing and the new speed challenges which consist of top speed run and speed challenge. Speed challenge is just a sprint race and top speed run is what some may remember as the races with the speed cameras it is essentially that The only things missing are a few cars and most importantly FREE ROAM!! Free roam was what seperated this from all other racing games. If you liked the project gotham racing and burnout titles you will love this games.

I don’t know why this has such a low score, the graphics, handling and sound are excellent, also the AI gives a realistic race. The only negative is the lack of replays and EAs horrific website making it difficult to get your uploaded pics. Much better than PGR4 I think.

The headset is brilliant. I am fed up of why it breaks though. My second one has just broken now for no reason. I can hear them but they cannot hear me. Overall i think this is a must have piece of equipment. But as it breaks after aroun 2 months it is not worth the price. Get onee but dont expect it to work after 2-3 months
Customer Review: Good when it works
The headset is good when it works, however they do tend to break easily, I myself am looking to buy a 3rd head set in 2 years. What tends to happen to them (and I do not throw the headset around) is that either the microphone just randomly stops working or the speaker stops working. In both my headsets the microphone has gone, in what seems an overnight event. Its a real shame because I don’t like buying non official products but this time I am looking elsewhere. It would be really good to see Microsoft remaking a headset that works well but has the strength to be put through day to day use, and not just break. I would understand it breaking if I were to treat it harshly and bash it around but the way I treat it, there should be nothing wrong with it. As I said at the start… its good when it works.

I have 4 rechargeable batteries that, when im using 2 last well longer than 25 hours. I can even prove it! I was playing my brother a match of Gears of war that went on for an unbeleavable amount of time (Around a whole day!) and his batteries died in the middle of the match. I asked what batteries he was using and he said that it was one of these packs. He also said that he recharged it the day before and was anoyed with needing to use the play and charge thing. He was in manchester at the time and we were using thoes headsets that drain battery power. I was using these batterise for a few weeks, I have even tested how long they lasted. They have a brillient lasting time of 36 hours!!! I was shoked but thought lol lol lol, what a propper find they were. These batteries cost me ?49.99 a pack so I guess theye were priced in their propper place. If you dont want to spend that mutch on a pair of batteries then get this, but if you want lasting power for intense gaming with a headset, don’t get this. Good Points: 1. Cheap for the amount of times it will need charging for the casual gamer. 2. It’s a Microsoft product so it will work perfectly with the controler. Bad Points: 1. Dosent last very long with the headset pluged in. 2. Anoying to need to use the plug and charge thing in the midle of a game.
Customer Review: Useful but perhaps a tad overpriced?
If you are using a wireless controller and find yourself forever replacing the batteries, then you might like to consider this. In conjunction with the quick charger kit, this battery will be fully charged in ~2 hours (for a single battery) or ~4 hours (for two in the charger at the same time). This then gives around 20 hours of play, which is pretty good. However, for what is essentially a NI-MH battery cell, it is expensive - especially when you consider the quick charger kit comes with a battery as well and is only a third more expensive. Having said that, it’s easier, faster and perhaps cheaper than using normal rechargeable NI-MH AA batteries. The alternative is the play and charge kit, but either you need to plan it in advance or have the wireless controller connected to the console for a period of time - kinda defeating the object of it being wireless in the first instance!

NHL 2K6 (Xbox 360) Customer Review: WATCH OUT FOR THE BUG
I love playing the games but after your done playing a game against another team, the loading screen comes up and it wont load, it keeps going and going and doesnt stop loading, so once your game is finished i have to turn off my console and start again. Very annoying from a brilliant game. Only bad thing about the game is the loading bug. Not impressed at all with that. I dont know if its just my game or other people have the same problem tho, it may be a one off but bare that it mind.
Customer Review: Crippled by unsolvable bug
Now, I am not usually the type of chap to complain too much about bugs in a video game. They happen and no one is perfect. Howver, I feel that this one is very important for people to know about.

What I do complain about is the serious bug effecting NHL 2K6 which effectively reduces your game disc to being an attractive table mat. After every attempt to play a game, the thing freezes. Full stop. No other scenarios, you play your one game and that’s it. Time up.

What’s more worrying is that developers 2K Sports seem unwilling to help. Random suggestions from them included suggestions that it was a problem with the Xbox 360 hard drive and that people should completely format it to enable the game to work. Brave people who did so found this most definitely not to be the case. Since then, 2K Sports have said nothing, presumably happy in the knowledge that enough people bought the game to give them a good profit before this season’s version.

Buy with caution. In the truest sense, NHL 2K6 is a broken game.

In a nutshell:
Although it was announced more than a decade ago this demonstrates that the best things really do come to those that wait, with the most original and technically advanced first person shoot `em-up in years.

The lowdown:
Although it was conceived at a time when 3D graphics cards were still optional the basic idea behind the Prey portal technology is still the same as it ever was, allowing you to instantly step from one world to another in the game. You can even create the portals yourself as you battle grotesque enemy bosses in one area and jump back to another to recover. The game casts you as a Cherokee Indian with a number of magical powers such as spirit walking that let you explore the game world as a spirit, and deathwalk which replaces the normal need for intrusive quick saves with an innovative mini-game set between the worlds of the living and the dead.

Most exciting moment:
Not only is the portal technology amazing but the game’s use of gravity is equally inspired with gravity escalators that run up and across ceilings and some excellent zero gravity sections where you pilot spaceship pods and explore a tiny rotating planetoid.

Originally intended only for the PC, the Xbox 360 version is being developed by British team Venom Games, who previously created Rocky Legends for Ubisoft, and features an 8 player multiplayer mode.

So Ive played about half of the game and its far too dull to keep me engrossed. Theres nothing spectacular about this game I can think of that makes me want to play it anymore, if it wouldn’t cost me more too return it than the money I’d get back I would no longer own the title.
Customer Review: well worth the money
Before buying the game it might be a good idea to play the demo which is available at the XBox Live marketplace. Looks like many elements of the game are borrowed from science fiction movies dating back as far as ‘Dark Star’ (the bouncing beach ball in the movie). I think the story is nice and there is some surprising little puzzles in the game. If you like Scifi and saving the world from time to time then you should consider buying this game, I think it’s worth the money.

Mexico City has been overrun by terrorists and only the Ghost Recon team can restore order – through the use of extreme violence. You command not just your three team mates but a high-tech array of weapons, armoured vehicles and aircraft.

The lowdown:
Although it still plays very similarly to the last Ghost Recon game this is easily the most impressive of the series so far. The graphics, particularly on the Xbox 360, are extraordinary with a whole city sprawling out in front of you at a previously unimaginable level of detail. Unlike some squad based shooters the controls are simple and intuitive, allowing you to take part in the action and order about soldiers and vehicles at the same time with the minimum of fuss. The questionable artificial intelligence of your allies is the only serious flaw, but the ability to explore the city and plan your attack from any angle usually overcomes this problem.

Most exciting moment:
Calling in a helicopter gunship as you and your men are pinned down by a dozen terrorists, snipers and tanks.

The game is set in 2013 and all of the high-tech weaponry is based on equipment the U.S. expects to have in operation by then – even the Metal Gear Solid style flying recon drones.

As the 360 is my first console since the megadrive(!) and having played the rainbow six games on PC with mouse etc I was wondering how on earth you could translate a complex squad tactical shooter to a gamepad with only a few buttons. I was pleasantly suprised. The controls do take getting used to, but by the end of the first misson it was all coming quite naturally. It plays brilliantly too, If you ever stop and take a look around at this city its graphically brilliant, light shimmering off the high rise skyscrapers etc. The AI is fairly intelligent, focussing fire in chokeholes, making you work your way round, taking cover and reacting nicely although i’ve yet to encounter one that uses grenades. hat impressed me most though was the non stop aspect. You complete a mission and immediately go into your black hawk and have to use the gun to clear the landing position for your next mission…you’re in enemy territory and the game makes you feel that, theres no safe place to rest up. All in all impressed, four stars though because of a few minor gripes with the cross com controls and with the sightly linear maps, but overall a damn good buy
Customer Review: What a letdown.
This was one of the games that came with my Xbox 360 and after reading reviews online I had high hopes. The graphics are alright, not as good as I was expecting though and I can’t understand why there’s a quote on the box that says “a masterclass in what the Xbox 360 can do.” The gameplay is incredibly complicated. There are so many controls you have to remember and that sucks a lot of fun out of the game. It’s not much fun in the first place. The worst thing about this game is that you can barely take any damage. OK, this is realistic but it makes the game needlessly hard. Especially when your squadmates have been hit and you’re trying to revive them with bullets flying at you. The level of damage makes it very hard to take cover and return fire as well because every time you stick your head out to fire, there’s a very high chance you’ll get hit. I’ve only played this game on the easiest setting and it’s still proving annoyingly difficult. I’m really surprised it’s got all the hype it has when only one other game I’ve ever owned has been this disappointing.

Wireless Headset (Xbox 360) Customer Review: Great!!! (From a constant online gamer)
Let me just state one thing first… this headset is a must have.

The comparison between the wired headset and the wireless headset has a large quality margin with the wireless headset sounding much much clearer. (I have also conducted an experiment through using the two headsets which talking to some friends and the wireless headset did produce a better sound quality on the receiving end.)

The other major advantage of the headset is that its wireless and so you don’t have to have to untagle wires every time you play the Xbox and you can also use a chat pad with ease. Although this is not a major problem… the wired headset crushes my hair (it goes across the head) whilst the wireless headset sits nicely on the chosen ear.

The headset is also extremely easy to set up (although I have to admit, the volume control on the wired model is alot more effective) and lasts a reasonably amount of time (normally about a couple of weeks at an average of 10 hours played per week).

I would recommend these to anyone and everyone (except those who cannot get onto exbox live :D).
Customer Review: Good clear sound and performance
I was really sceptical about getting this. I had a wireless headset for my old xbox but it was awful so it put my off purchasing anymore when I got the 360 when it came out. After a kind donation of vouchers I decided to take the plunge and buy this as I was sick of the normal wired headsets breaking on me and the wires getting tangled.
This headset ( earpiece really ! ) has been far better than I expected and I would now never go back to the scrawny wired headset that you get with the 360.
Firstly its comfortable- you get 2 sizes of earpiece fittings. I play my 360 everyday for several hours so I need something that performs well and is comfortable. The sound is great- you can get feedback if the volume is to high but with normal volume the sound is crystal clear even within a few feet away from the box. I have no problems at all with synchronisation .
As for the battiers they last about 12 hours so for me this is fine but why I gave it 4 stars rather than 5. Overall Im delighted with it and wish I had bought one sooner, rathering than going through 3 wired headsets !! No more triping over the headset wires ( accidenitly forgetting you have it plugges into the 360 and walking away…. ) and now I have good clean sound so in everyway this is worth it .

Customer Review: Handy For Backup Purposes, But Restricted And Too Small
The sole purpose of me buying these Memory Unit’s is one word, “Backup”. I always backup my saved data because if my consoles die or go out with a bang, I always have something small around me which has the backup data, and it helps me get back into business rather than starting from scratch! This Memory Unit is for the XBox 360 Console, it’s 64MB and it can store any type of data you acquire for backup. Because of it’s size though, you are quite limited to what you want to backup as certain retail games have saved data from about 1MB or even more. BioShock alone requires 15MB per saved game. The Orange Box is another game, which requires big data space, 10MB per saved game! Because of this reason I use the unit for games which are finished and have saved data which needs to be stored on a Memory Unit, as if for example I get the “3 Rings Of Death”, my data is safe from all that bad hassle (I’m not looking forward to getting that Ring Of Death). I’ve also discovered another little ordeal as well. If you own XBox Live on your console and you store backup data on the memory unit, you may not be able to transfer that data onto another console with another player who owns XBox Live. I tried giving my brother my Sonic The Hedgehog 1 data from my XBox 360 to his XBox 360 using the Memory Unit, but the console refused to perform that action! My Grade For The Device: 7/10: On The Ball, Down-But Not Out, OK My Wish: I wish the unit were bigger in size and the ability to transfer data from one console to another! This box malfuntioned straight out of the packaging. The start up screen never appeared. On reboot it did but the box malfuntioned continually after that with games crashing out or screen freezing after variable amounts of time sometimes 5 minutes other 35 minutes. This was on Xmas day after it was given as a Xmas present - how much disappointment there was. It culminated with the red lights of doom signifying the box had indeed died. I now have to wait until January 2nd for a pick up - who can guess when the repacement will arrive? 3rd January 2008 - good service - hop it works this time.

Customer Review: A great series ruined
Def Jam: Fight For New York was one of the best fighting games on the PS2, mixing wrestling with street fighting and starring so many of the best rappers of the time. Def Jam Icon on the Xbox 360 however has completely changed this winning formula and comes off as a dull, below average beat ‘em up.

The first thing you’ll notice when you start playing Icon (regardless of whether you have played Vendetta or FFNY or not) is how unbearably slow and unresponsive the fighting is. The characters crawl along at a snail’s pace and also seems to have only about 3 moves each, as opposed to the previous Def Jam games that had dozens of moves per fighter and was also pretty fast. You also have a move where you can scratch the beat of the background music to use the environment to attack your opponent. A bit of a daft and novel idea, which makes this otherwise realisitic game seem a little ridiculous.

Next is the appalling roster. In the first 2 Def Jam games there were over 40 top-name hip hop artists like Snoop Dogg, DMX, Xzibit, Flava Flav, Erick Sermon, Warren G, NORE, Busta Rhymes and Keith Murray as playable fighters. The only decent ones that have made it into Icon’s pathetic 20+ roster are Ludacris, Method Man, Ghostface Killah and Redman, who are amongst some newer and not so good stars like T.I., The Game, Lil John and E-40.

Then there’s the story mode, one of the best features of Vendetta and FFNY. In Icon the D-Mob storyline has been replaced with a “Build a Label” mode where you create a fighter, like in the previous games, and then have to take over your boss’s record label, which involves signing artists, funding their songs and promotions and fighting with rival labels’ artists, crazed fans and police. A good idea but takes much of the fun away from the story as there isn’t a lot of choice in fights as you only get a selection of about 2 at a time. Then once you have beaten your opponent you come back to have to read through about 20 emails and voice messages from your friends in the game, which is terribly boring and you must read them all or else fights will be missed.

The graphics are one of the only decent things about this whole game, offering some of the best textures and character models ever seen on the Xbox 360. Some of the fighters look so realistic, it’s scary.

The soundtrack is ok, but not brilliant. Featuring a few new(ish) tracks (not exclusives) from Redman, E-40, Outkast, The Game and Ludacris. Then there’s some classics like “Ante Up” by M.O.P and “Hate Me Now” by Nas & Puff Daddy.

Overall, Def Jam Icon is a huge disappointment and a massive let down after the first two brilliant games in the Def Jam series. The game is slow, boring and not very much fun. If you’re after a decent fighting game, I’d perhaps dig out the old PS2 and play one of the first two or stick to something like Mortal Kombat Armageddon, which is by far the best fighting game out at the minute. As for a decent fighter on the 360, I’m still waiting.

In a nutshell:
Ex-Nintendo developer Rare is bringing a rather different style of game to the Xbox 360 as you tend a virtual garden to attract and tame magical talking pi?atas. It may sound twee but its ability to addict is far more powerful than its cutesy graphics suggest.

The lowdown:
Unlike most first party Xbox games this is not an action game, but a gentler, more family friendly, simulation in the tradition of Animal Crossing. The basic premise is that you have a plot of land that you can turn from an overgrown mess into a beautiful garden. In so doing it will attract a range of 60 different pi?atas who, depending on how you treat them, will then decide to live there. For something as simple as a pi?ata worm you just have to have a patch of earth for them to play in but other pi?atas are a lot more demanding, while others first need to be tamed from their aggressive wild state.

Most exciting moment:
Not only can you accessorise your pi?atas with items bought from Xbox Live Marketplace but you can also swap items and pi?atas with other friends that own the game online.

Since you ask:
Viva Pi?ata has been conceived as a Pokemon style cross media franchise from the off, with all kinds of toys and merchandise already planned, as well as a new 4Kids cartoon series.

The bottom line:
At last there’s an Xbox 360 game the whole family can play and enjoy.

When I first saw this game I thought it was a good deal, nearly half price so I bought it, I waited a few working days and it hadn’t dispatched, so I cancelled the it, I have been waiting for over a week now and I still haven’t got my money back, Microsoft and ripped me off.

If you can wait weeks for a game and your 100% sure you want it the get it, but if not don’t or the same thing will happen to you as it did to me.

when I brought this game I wasnt sure what to expect, However I urge any one to buy this game. The last motorcycle game I ever played was manx TT (sega saturn) and super hang on (sega megadrive)so it has been a while since I played anything like this. So when I played this game it did not disapoint at all. graphics are superb, gameplay can be difficult to master give it a few races you will soon be a valentino rossi. Beating your lap times is always good, the fact you get time penalties for going off the course adds to the fun factor, in my opinion anyway. The game is availiable on xbox live what more can you ask for? Aside from the gp side, you have street racing which can be intense. I suppose a bit more choice of bikes could be better.

I hope they will bring another one out, as the chances of getting a decent formula one game is very slim. The game has really got me into motorbikes, dont know if that is good thing, the best two wheel game you will play for quite a time.

Customer Review: How Will You Play?
Well first off, I need to say I am a hardcore wrestling fan, and so this review is from a fan’s point of view. SmackDown 2008 is the most recent installment of the highly successful franchise, and it’s second visit to the Xbox 360 easily surpasses last years’ game. The most notable differences are the graphics, which have been improved ten-fold. The animations have also been modified - something that has needed to be done for the last few years - and whilst some moves still look insanely unrealistic (West Coast Pop on the Great Khali, anyone?) you can appreciate the changes that have been done. As is the standard for each years’ installment, a selection of good - and not-so-good - songs by low-profile and well known artists have been included within the game. The modes of last year have also seen some alterations, such as the combinations of the GM and Season modes into the new 24/7 mode; oddly enough, despite the new label, you have to choose whether to play as a superstar or a GM when you begin, and so in actuality you are still playing Season and GM Modes. The latest grappler also includes the use of fighting styles, such as Powerhouse, Brawler, High-Flyer and Showman. This is perhaps the best feature of the new game, as it adds the need for tactics when playing. No longer can you play as Rey Mysterio and defeat the Great Khali, because you will get flattened if you try and just beat your way to the victory. For me its a good feature, but for others it may cause disapointment. Also, there are no different styles depending on the console; the 360 has the same styles as all SVR08 on the other platforms. On the topic of the 360, THQ have finally answered one of the much-requested features in the game: the use of your own music as entrance themes for pre-existing and created superstars. This is incredibly useful for when you want to update a superstars entrance theme, i.e. Johnny Nitro’s MNM theme to the now-used John Morrison theme, and whilst it is a little tricky to work it allows extra customisation within the game. By now you probably have either heard or read about the ECW presence within the game, and so I won’t go too far into this except to say that the use of ECW and the new Extreme Rules match is both good and bad. The good side of the ECW superstars is that THQ have now included some ECW legends, such as Sabu and Terry Funk. What’s bad is that the roster for the new brand is unbelievably limited. In the Extreme Rules match we can now set-alight tables and 2X4 ‘Barbies’, and also choose from a much wider selection of weapons to deal the damage. The bad side is that you can only have this match in the ECW arena, not on a PPV, and also the new weapon-wheel often slows down the action in the ring, as all other action stops whilst the player or CPU decides. The roster is slightly smaller than last year, and is also outdated, but since there is the possibility of downloading new content (superstars, arenas and match-types) via Xbox Live, I’ll leave this section alone until more info is revealed by THQ. Xbox Live remains active for SVR08, however the same lagging and quiting issues remain from the last game. Players often still quit in the middle of a match, ending your session, and don’t get punished for it. THQ needs to introduce a method of demotion in rank for frequent quiters. What I find the most frustrating about this game is the fact that, for the third year, THQ has used the same commentary. I got this game for X-Mas and from the first match I could almost talk along word-by-word what the commentators were saying. It just suggests that THQ are lazy and don’t consider their buyers worthy of more quality. Overall, I think that most WWE/ wrestling fans will find this game to be enjoyable, particularly for those who have player SVR2007 to death over the last year. However, for players who just want to have some fun and don’t have any of the other installments, I would have to recommend either renting this and then deciding, or just buying either the 2006 or 2007 edition to be on the safe side.

I am a big fan of the smackdown franchise and have been for a long time, smackdown vs raw 2007 was an ace game for all the right reasons and with smackdown 2008 in my hands i thought its going to be the 2007 game with way more things to do, an even better title…..how wrong i was. The game lacks and forgets to improove on a number of things that made the 2007 game what it was, such as: 1. When your ontop of the hell in a cell on 2008 there is an invisible field around the edge now so u cant accidentally fall off due to your mistakes. In 2007 it was nerve racking and tense being up on the cell wondering if u make 1 false move you will fall off and your down for the count. 2. They have not removed the ridiculous spam moves that online players constantly use and toaly ruin the experience, anybody who played frequently on the 2007 will know about the instant headbutt move that players would just spam onto you untill your red and pin you as this move was 99% effiecient and out of my year playing the game i think i managed to reverse it once, and among my friends im known for being the reversal king. 3. not only have they left the old spamming moves in such as the instant heabutt they have also added new ways that the online players can ruin the experience, such as the diving roll trait from a high flyer which can escape 99% of any tricky situations for them leaving you open again to be spam headbutted over and over. 4. The fragility of wrestlers on this game is pathetic my grandmother could take more of a beating than the wrestlers on this game, do 3 moves and your on red body status just about. now in comparison to smackdown 2007 that is truly feeble and this made the game boring rather than challenging. Smackdown vs raw 2008 had so much potential with uploading your own theme tunes and smoother gameplay, even the traits were a good potential move, but THQ and co. could not have gone more wrong with this title its slow and boring with wrestlers that take less beating than a wet paper bag can. if your after a challenging fast paced adreneline rush wrestling game then smackdown 2007 is the ultimate choice (if you look up youll notice the game has already halfed in price and its only been out a few month, that speaks a thousand words in my opinion) wise words: dont buy this because its the newest one.

I have just got my P21 Back Pack home and am soooo chuffed with it and I love the range so much I’ve got a Slig Bag too. The good thing about the Back Pack is that it holds so much kit and if you want to use it without the console it’s got a removable sleeve so you can keep the console safe and protected at home. I use the bag for day to day use and when I want to take my console to my mates I just put the sleeve back in. As for the strength, it seems to me that this is made of the very best material and let’s just see but I bet it outlasts millions of other bags on the market.

Hitman: Blood Money (Xbox 360) In a nutshell:
Agent 47 is back in the game that finally does full justice to the Hitman concept, with huge improvements to the graphics, controls and, most importantly, the number of ways for you to plan your hits - from wading in guns blazing to making it all look like a simple accident.

The lowdown:
Although the Hitman games were always a great idea they never quite worked the way you expected, with an awkward control system and camera and far less freedom than it at first seemed. This latest sequel solves almost all these problems, starting with a standard third person camera over which you have full control. Although you can ask for hints on how to carry out a hit you’ve so many options the game’s almost like a macabre graphic adventure - do you use the remote detonated bomb on the chandelier winch in the ballroom or plug the secretary’s Coke with poison and hide in the cupboard? The new notoriety system seems a bit pointless but otherwise this gets almost everything right.

Most exciting moment:
The game features tons of new additions like grabbing human shields, a quick draw for your gun and the ability to hide bodies. The most fun though is the simple sounding push option, which allows you to sneak up behind someone and send them flying off a balcony by “accident”.

Since you ask:
Blood Money includes various references to previous Hitman games, the most prominent being the Paris mission in an Opera house, which acts as a prequel to Hitman: Contracts.

The bottom line:
The best Hitman game yet, that makes a real effort to fix the flaws of the previous games.

i have just got this game and it is the best game i have played on there is nothing that you can’t do you can get human shields, take uniforms, push people off cliffs to make it look like suicide and people do not just collapse on the floor when you kill them.the only thing that needs improving is that there is not enough of it there are fourteen levels and considering the length is more than substantial but all outstanding games cand be improved by making it longer.

Sadly, it shows that it is a last gen port. The graphics range from PS2 standard to excellent. Fortunately the gameplay is still excellent regardless of the games graphical standards. It doesn’t deviate much from the previous installments, so fans will knowwhat to expect.

Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (Xbox 360)
In a nutshell:
The surprise hit of 2005 is back and this time it’s moved on from the prequels and onto “proper” Star Wars. It may sound like one of the worst excesses of marketing hell but this is good enough to rejuvenate your love for both video games and Star Wars (and Lego)!

The lowdown:
As ridiculous as the idea sounds this is one of the few games that really can be played by all ages, from tots to grandparents - the game even adjusts its difficultly level on the fly depending how well you’re doing. The graphics are absolutely hilarious as the game pokes gentle fun at all the films and characters and uses the Lego motif so you can build new structures and objects as you go. With more playable characters than ever each now has their own special move, such as Chewbacca’s ability to pull the arms off Stormtroopers, and you can get in and out of vehicles whenever you want in some levels.

Most exciting moment:
The game features a large number of vehicles to drive, including landspeeders and AT-STs. You can also ride a Dewback which excretes an ominous looking brown Lego stud if you press a button…

Since you ask:
The all important two player co-op mode from the first game is still in the sequel, plus you can now design your own characters out of component Lego pieces. Darth Greedo, anyone?

The bottom line:
The Force is strong with this one.

As a boy growing up in the 80’s star wars was a huge part of my life and this was the decade when the toys associated with the film really took off. Sadly, star wars toys made of Lego were 20 years away and now, as a 30 year old, trying to persuade my wife that buying Lego is a good idea is just not happening. Thankfully the genius’s at Lego and Lucas arts have come up with this cracker of a game which I can just about get away with buying. The premise is simple in that it follows the last three films (or first 3 depending on your age!!) and you are taken through virtually every major set piece, in each film, playing as various Lego/star wars characters. The learning curve is perfect for both kids and adults alike. The cut scenes in between each level are hilarious. My first play of the game was with the “help” of an 8 and a 6 year old and we all spent most of the time in hysterics. The animation is superb and the controls are very cleverly done. Just push gently on the left stick and watching the characters “creeping” is very funny. This is a game which provides excellent family entertainment and really fits the category of “suitable for all ages”. If you are a fan of the first Lego star wars game then this comes highly recommended.

I like this game a lot. It’s a laugh to play as you go through the various famous Star Wars scenes and stuff as a Lego character (the Lego Boombox that blasts out a heavy metal version of the Imperial March, making Gamorrean guards rock out is one of the best things I’ve seen!) However, I find trying to save your progress in this game EXTREMELY frustrating! For some reason when you clear a chapter and your autosave kicks in, it doesn’t save your progress properly and you end up right back at the Mos Eisley cantina when you reload your game. Not cool. I plan to keep playing this game and figure out what’s going wrong, but that in itself is something no gamer should have to do. In short, great game, LOUSY saving system!

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition (Limited Edition Steel Case) (Xbox 360) With the Xbox 360 still selling like two week old sushi in Japan, Capcom remains Microsoft’s biggest supporter from the land of the rising uppercut. Realising there’s no point trying to appeal to the local market their games so far have all been very much Western in style, as exemplified by the well-received Dead Rising. This was intended as a third person take on Halo and even though the similarities are ultimately minor it’s still one of the 360’s best action games. Like most Capcom games the story (and particularly dialogue and voiceovers) is not one of the game’s best features, but thankfully there’s not much that needs explaining when you’re fighting monster bugs and giant robot riding snow pirates.

Like Halo you can have only two weapons at a time and use a recharging shield. This though is powered by an always decreasing supply of thermal energy, topped up from defeated enemies. Apart from this the only other piece of gadgetry you have to help you is a grappling hook, although it remains largely underused in the single player campaign. The various mechs you can commandeer are a great deal of fun though, with different variants being able to jump, hover or transform into vehicles. Graphically the game is excellent, with some awesomely large Starship Troopers style bugs and possibly the best explosions ever in gaming.

Where the game gets into trouble is the brevity of the single player campaign. Although this is compensated by the online multiplayer mode, even that cannot overcome the game’s innate simplicity. Complexity, or even longevity, is not what this game is about though and in terms of offering plenty of big dumb fun it succeeds admirably.

Customer Review: Lost Planet One of The Best Yet
Lost Planet is one of the best Xbox 360 games to have come out with great visuals, good game play and a multiplayer to rival most on the 360. The single player campaign is were the only real problem with this game lies you really can’t quite tell what is going on and the cut scenes provide little incite into what is going on, you can sort of tell what the main story is but there is a lot left untold. Apart from this problem the single player is deep and addictive and fun to play it is a little hard at times but the levels are fun to play can the amount that is going on is amazing all with no lagg!

The other half of the game is represented by a fun, deep and brilliant multiplayer game mode. You can play up to 24 players on line on about 15 different levels with more soon to be added. The vital suites work well with the multi player and add a lot of fun to it. There are 4 different game types. There is death match, team death match, elimination & team elimination. There all fun and addictive and make this one of the best multi player games on the 360.

One of the best things about Lost Planet is that there is almost no lagg infact I have not come along any since I have been playing and this makes the game more believable and keeps u locked on what is going on.

The limited addition is worth the money by far, with a cool limited addition cover and an art book as well. There is also a pc disk that comes with it that has art work, wallpapers, avatars & a window media player theme witch is really good.

All in all Lost Planet is a great game and well worth your attention. The one player is not as good as the other 3rd person shooters that are available but the multi player smokes the competition.

Customer Review: a must have for motor racing fans
when I brought this game I wasnt sure what to expect, However I urge any one to buy this game. The last motorcycle game I ever played was manx TT (sega saturn) and super hang on (sega megadrive)so it has been a while since I played anything like this. So when I played this game it did not disapoint at all. graphics are superb, gameplay can be difficult to master give it a few races you will soon be a valentino rossi. Beating your lap times is always good, the fact you get time penalties for going off the course adds to the fun factor, in my opinion anyway. The game is availiable on xbox live what more can you ask for? Aside from the gp side, you have street racing which can be intense. I suppose a bit more choice of bikes could be better.

I hope they will bring another one out, as the chances of getting a decent formula one game is very slim. The game has really got me into motorbikes, dont know if that is good thing, the best two wheel game you will play for quite a time.

Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (Xbox 360)
In a nutshell:
The surprise hit of 2005 is back and this time it’s moved on from the prequels and onto “proper” Star Wars. It may sound like one of the worst excesses of marketing hell but this is good enough to rejuvenate your love for both video games and Star Wars (and Lego)!

The lowdown:
As ridiculous as the idea sounds this is one of the few games that really can be played by all ages, from tots to grandparents - the game even adjusts its difficultly level on the fly depending how well you’re doing. The graphics are absolutely hilarious as the game pokes gentle fun at all the films and characters and uses the Lego motif so you can build new structures and objects as you go. With more playable characters than ever each now has their own special move, such as Chewbacca’s ability to pull the arms off Stormtroopers, and you can get in and out of vehicles whenever you want in some levels.

Most exciting moment:
The game features a large number of vehicles to drive, including landspeeders and AT-STs. You can also ride a Dewback which excretes an ominous looking brown Lego stud if you press a button…

Since you ask:
The all important two player co-op mode from the first game is still in the sequel, plus you can now design your own characters out of component Lego pieces. Darth Greedo, anyone?

The bottom line:
The Force is strong with this one.

As a boy growing up in the 80’s star wars was a huge part of my life and this was the decade when the toys associated with the film really took off. Sadly, star wars toys made of Lego were 20 years away and now, as a 30 year old, trying to persuade my wife that buying Lego is a good idea is just not happening. Thankfully the genius’s at Lego and Lucas arts have come up with this cracker of a game which I can just about get away with buying. The premise is simple in that it follows the last three films (or first 3 depending on your age!!) and you are taken through virtually every major set piece, in each film, playing as various Lego/star wars characters. The learning curve is perfect for both kids and adults alike. The cut scenes in between each level are hilarious. Halo 3 (Xbox 360)
The Halo games were always the best reason to by an Xbox and now the final part in the initial trilogy of ground breaking first person shooters is set to raise the bar for all Xbox 360 games. Well known for their secrecy, Bungie have officially revealed little about Halo 3, but what is known is that the new game features an Earth completely overtaken and controlled by the Covenant, as they seek a secret hidden Forerunner weapon.

Although little is known about the single player mode, more has been seen of the multiplayer, with various beta testing schemes going on in both secret and in public. A number of new weapons and vehicles have already been revealed including a new assault rifle, the new Spartan laser anti-vehicle weapon and a new hand held shield device for Master Chief that can create a far more effective protective shield around you. New vehicles include the ATV-like Mongoose, a new variant of the Warthog and the new, more powerful, Brute Ghost.

Of course the most important new feature that every new fan is interested in is the graphics, and they are looking predictably fantastic. With lots of technobabble, new features like high dynamic range lightning and pre-computed radiance transfer means the game will not only play great but looks amazing too.

Halo 3 is the third game set in the world of Halo, and it was one of if not the most hyped games ever. It was deliberately hyped and Microsoft knew it would be their money maker, and so gave every single Live member, wheteher GOLD or SILVER membership an entire weekend to play Halo and any other game online for free. All I can say is that Halo, wehile being almost thwe same as Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2, is amazing and bering the same is brilliant as it is what people fin so enjoyable and fun to play including myself. Multiplayer is the best part as it is so much fun to pllay with friends and finally you can play with friends in ranked matches.

Ive had this game for a while now but have avoided playing it in favour of fifa and fight night. Ive got myself hooked up to xbox live at last and i thought id give the old slayer matches a go online. After getting my ass handed to me on several occasions by all and sundry, i decided to give the campaign mode a whirl to hopefully improve. Ive seen many varied reviews, but ive got to say I really like the game. It looks great, its not massively difficult, there are very regular checkpoints (which i really like) and its ideal for xbox live like most first person shooters. Obviously this game isnt gonna please everybody, but its been a long time since ive played a first person shooter that I like and enjoy, so I have to recommend this game strongly to any 360 owners who have not yet got it.

Customer Review: A great series ruined
Def Jam: Fight For New York was one of the best fighting games on the PS2, mixing wrestling with street fighting and starring so many of the best rappers of the time. Def Jam Icon on the Xbox 360 however has completely changed this winning formula and comes off as a dull, below average beat ‘em up.

The first thing you’ll notice when you start playing Icon (regardless of whether you have played Vendetta or FFNY or not) is how unbearably slow and unresponsive the fighting is. The characters crawl along at a snail’s pace and also seems to have only about 3 moves each, as opposed to the previous Def Jam games that had dozens of moves per fighter and was also pretty fast. You also have a move where you can scratch the beat of the background music to use the environment to attack your opponent. A bit of a daft and novel idea, which makes this otherwise realisitic game seem a little ridiculous.
