Neo Se Advanced Controller (Xbox 360)

Neo Se Advanced Controller (Xbox 360)
Customer Review: the worst replica controller available
ok, so ive been through a few controllers in my time. Enough said. I bough this from virgin for about the same price as on this site, i have to say it is abvsolute rubbish. The build quality is cheap, it feels too small and the button layout is not anywhere near as good as the official one. Start and back are inaccessible when playing and the triggers and so spring loaded that you have to pull them all the way in to start shooting. The axis sticks are very poor and unresponsive also mine sticks in the up-right position. Very poor, never buying this crap again.

Customer Review: Cheaper, but noticeably worse than the official controller.
I wanted an extra controller for when playing with buddies at home. Since this only happens occasionally, I didn’t want to spend more money than necessary. For the purpose of this review I will compare with the official controller.

Overall feel and design - sits well in my hands, and feels comfortable in general. I don’t like the placement of the back/start buttons though, as it feels a bit awkward reaching them. Still, there is less risk of pressing them by accident like this.

Buttons - feel a bit hard, which is not necessarily a bad thing. I suspect that button-mashing games will make your fingers hurt though. Sensitivy is on par with the official controller.

D-pad - this actually feels more precise. I always had a wee bit of problems with the official D-pad, and especially the diagonals feel imprecise. This one’s better, and should be good for fighting games.

Triggers - firmer and with more resistance than the official controller. Neither better nor worse for any practical purpose. With driving games I actually think it’s easier to maintain exactly the right level of acceleration. If you need to repeatedly press the triggers fast, they can feel a little too tough.

Analog sticks - these feel flip-floppy, imprecise, and not that analog. They are too soft, and movement often becomes all-or-nothing. On shooters this can be compensated by turning overall sensitivity down, and it’s ok. But play any game which recquires precise sequences of movements (trick games, driving, FNR3) and it becomes a major pain. It is a noticeable handicap playing with this controller, which is not how I want my coop or vs games at home.

Conclusions - if a good D-pad is crucial for you, to the point of not caring that much about the sticks, buy it at good value. Otherwise, wait until you can afford a better controller, or you will regret your buy like I did.

Customer Review: Brilliant…
This is one great game, the gameplay is great the storyline is good and the multiplayer (even offline) is second to none Brilliant
Customer Review: A Must Have
Quite simply if you have the XBox 360 this is the game you must have. Playing online is so much fun and so satisfying. You can play in various types of games with different types of weapons plus play in story mode yourself if you want to. This is just a classic game and is essential part of the XBox 360 library of games.

FIFA 08 (Xbox 360)

The greatest battle of the new football season is not between any real world club but between the virtual giants of FIFA and Pro Evolution Soccer. Konami’s game has always been the favourite but last year FIFA closed the gap to such a degree that the title race has never been closer. This year’s FIFA uses a completely new game engine, for the first time built specifically for the next gen consoles. But improved graphics and animation are only the half of it, with just as much focus going on the artificial intelligence thanks to the new “35 point decision engine”. What this basically means is that every player on the pitch is fully aware of those around him and constantly thinking about tactics and position when not under your control.

Other changes include better modelled physics for taking a shot on goal, which take into account everything from air pressure to the angle of your foot. You’re also able to create your own special moves to replicate every possible trick from real life. There are also new game modes including Be A Pro which challenges you to play the role of a single player through a whole season or career. On top of this there are revamped online leagues to play a virtual season in the Premier League, Bundesliga, French League or Mexican 1st Division against real opponents. With 620 licensed teams, 30 offline leagues and 15,000 players as well FIFA might just have made enough new signings this year to put it over the top.

Customer Review: Good but RIDDLED with problems!
Had this game since Christmas and have played it quite extensivley. Completed afew season on semi-pro and found the game overall to be very very good. Multi player is also great fun. Overall a great game. HOWEVER, decided to step up to Proffessional mode as i was winning everything…things changed!! Your players become utterly stupid and unable to remember how to play football. The other teams, in changing the difficulty level up one level, become a team of Ronaldinho’s compared to the slow, non-responive players on your team. And this is not due to me being bad at the game. Your players cannot control the ball, your goalkeeper is useless and players not being controlled by yourself, their AI is useless. Against slighlty better teams it is impossible to score unless you are clear one on one with the goalkeeper and even then it is still hard to beat him. And as for free kicks…what is the point in winning one….it takes weeks to even get close to geting a free kick over the wall and even on target and a free kick from anywhere not in goal scoring distance is a waste as its impossible to pick anyone out…compared to the super skills of all AI teams, where if you concede a free kick about 10 yards out from the edge of your box…it will either curl straight in or hit the post…EVERY TIME! I have now become stupidly frustrated with this game! EA really need to work the kinks out of this for the next installment. Im a FIFA fan over ProEvo anyday but far too many niggling little things to take the enjoyment out when you become good at the game
Customer Review: Good solid football game better than pro evo
i have had this game since Christmas and it is great i have also played the pro evo game and it is not nearly as good so if you want a football game that you can play time and time again get Fifa 08

Customer Review: X-BOX 360 and ps2 RIP OFF!
This is just rediculuos that on X-BOX 360 the graphics are better there are better levels on it you can xplore Springfield on it. Whilst I bought it on ps2 and I thought I was playing a game from 1995! The ps2 version is so awful that I have thrown it away! On ps2 just looking at it makes you sick! IT’S SO BLUGHRY! Trust me get it on X-BOX or ps3 and you will like it DONT get it on enything else!
Customer Review: Why you little!!!!
Well, after many a dodgy tie-in game, finally a game based upon the Simpsons IP that isn’t a complete failure. It’s not ground breaking either, but a middling, fun game. If you’re a Simpsons fan, then the humour is spot on and the cutscenes superb to watch - as you would expect given that the Simpsons writers themselves were involved in the game. The bane of all platform games (camera angles) makes an occasional appearance, but doesn’t ruin the game completely. It’s not as good as say, Lego Star Wars II, but much better than many platformers. In my opinion, there’s too much emphasis placed upon collecting things - Duff bottle caps, Marge’s saving coupons, Malibu Stacey’s, Krusty stuff - it’s like the developers needed to pad the game out - and they did, because you will complete the story line fairly quickly. The video game cliches are reasonably funny and at least take a different tact on the collectibles approach, but again, they are just padding. So, aside from a collectible overdose, you might be thinking I like this game. As a Simpsons fan, you’re right. I loved the main story, enjoyed it and thought it was a reasonable game. However, there’s a problem with the Simpsons on the 360 which others have also found and been left annoyed by - the autosave mechanism. As you progress, the game autosaves. It does so when you get a collectible, cliche or complete a chunk of the story. However, the autosave is buggy and is known to corrupt the save file. Theory seems to be that it sometimes takes much longer to save than the game indicates, so after the autosave logo disappears, you exit the game and hey presto - your save is corrupted. This is shocking and something EA should have picked up in QA. Unfortunately I fell foul to this bug after completing the main storyline and was about to embark on getting the missing collectibles - what a kick in the teeth!

Ciscotech Xbox 360 Live Headset Headphone Microphone & 2 year “replace for new” warranty!!
This product really is fantastic and highly recommended. And the amzing thing about buying from Media Accessories is that not only do they offer a complete money back guarantee inc. postage if you are not happy with the product, but also a free extended 2 year warranty!! And all at such a great price! You just can’t lose.
Customer Review: Waste of Money
I wanted a cheap replacement for my broken xbox 360 headset. This headset is really uncomfatable to wear and the volume control on the bottom is stiff and takes a lot of effort just to turn it. My advice stick to the offical one.

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter: Premium Edition (Xbox 360)

In a nutshell:
Mexico City has been overrun by terrorists and only the Ghost Recon team can restore order – through the use of extreme violence. You command not just your three team mates but a high-tech array of weapons, armoured vehicles and aircraft.

The lowdown:
Although it still plays very similarly to the last Ghost Recon game this is easily the most impressive of the series so far. The graphics, particularly on the Xbox 360, are extraordinary with a whole city sprawling out in front of you at a previously unimaginable level of detail. Unlike some squad based shooters the controls are simple and intuitive, allowing you to take part in the action and order about soldiers and vehicles at the same time with the minimum of fuss. The questionable artificial intelligence of your allies is the only serious flaw, but the ability to explore the city and plan your attack from any angle usually overcomes this problem.

Most exciting moment:
Calling in a helicopter gunship as you and your men are pinned down by a dozen terrorists, snipers and tanks.

Since you ask:
The game is set in 2013 and all of the high-tech weaponry is based on equipment the U.S. expects to have in operation by then – even the Metal Gear Solid style flying recon drones.

The bottom line:
Incredible graphics and one of the best squad based shooters ever.

Customer Review: Nice
As the 360 is my first console since the megadrive(!) and having played the rainbow six games on PC with mouse etc I was wondering how on earth you could translate a complex squad tactical shooter to a gamepad with only a few buttons. I was pleasantly suprised. The controls do take getting used to, but by the end of the first misson it was all coming quite naturally. It plays brilliantly too, If you ever stop and take a look around at this city its graphically brilliant, light shimmering off the high rise skyscrapers etc. The AI is fairly intelligent, focussing fire in chokeholes, making you work your way round, taking cover and reacting nicely although i’ve yet to encounter one that uses grenades. hat impressed me most though was the non stop aspect. You complete a mission and immediately go into your black hawk and have to use the gun to clear the landing position for your next mission…you’re in enemy territory and the game makes you feel that, theres no safe place to rest up.

All in all impressed, four stars though because of a few minor gripes with the cross com controls and with the sightly linear maps, but overall a damn good buy
Customer Review: What a letdown.
This was one of the games that came with my Xbox 360 and after reading reviews online I had high hopes.

The graphics are alright, not as good as I was expecting though and I can’t understand why there’s a quote on the box that says “a masterclass in what the Xbox 360 can do.”

The gameplay is incredibly complicated. There are so many controls you have to remember and that sucks a lot of fun out of the game. It’s not much fun in the first place.

The worst thing about this game is that you can barely take any damage. OK, this is realistic but it makes the game needlessly hard. Especially when your squadmates have been hit and you’re trying to revive them with bullets flying at you. The level of damage makes it very hard to take cover and return fire as well because every time you stick your head out to fire, there’s a very high chance you’ll get hit.

I’ve only played this game on the easiest setting and it’s still proving annoyingly difficult. I’m really surprised it’s got all the hype it has when only one other game I’ve ever owned has been this disappointing.

Customer Review: Same old same old
It’s a memory card that lets you save your progress and profile. I can get 5 or 6 arcade games on here that can be transported between my XBoxes (does not work with Sega Vintage Collection games, eg. Sonic). But, it is still just a memory card. Why it should cost so much to fit in a proprietary slot remains a mystery. More overpriced hardware by MS.
Customer Review: Efficient
Lets you back up all your saved games easily and you can transfer your profile to it when you go round a friends house. It seems expensive for a memory card when you can get a new game for around this price but if you think about it, only a few years ago we had to spend about ?20 for an official sony memory card for PS2 that was 8MB, this 512MB xbox 360 memory unit is ?30. Actually that still sounds expensive. Anyway if you need a memory unit then buy it, if you don’t then buy a new game.

Customer Review: Tell me about XNA not Agile Project Management Methods
Pointless book where the author has used it as a soapbox to promote completely unrelated subjects like Agile project management. The text is error prone and hard to follow. Wait for a better book.
Customer Review: Hard to read - keep Google and Wikipedia handy
It’s obvious that the author knows what he’s doing. The games that he’s produced and are described in this book are amazing. There was a real buzz around XNA Racer on the community forums at the start of the year. However, I buy a book to read offline with occasional keyboard time and as such, I find this book difficult to recommend. There is too little exposition around the key concepts and the book lurches from over-explaining the basics to assuming black belt matrix algebra knowledge. A few examples: * This book is about 3D games programming but has way too few explanatory diagrams. * The author mentions point sprites as an alternative to billboards. OK, so what’s a point sprite? What are the pros and cons of point sprites vs billboards? This is a minor example but a good editor would surely have demanded an explanatory paragraph or two. * Did the author think the book would be published in colour? The text often refers to coloured elements in black and white diagrams. * The sample code contains too much of the author’s own engine library code, making it difficult to incorporate into your own efforts. * If it’s a bad idea (and it is) to use foreach in game loops, NEVER use foreach in code samples. Probably the most frustrating thing about the book is the prose style that is at times unreadable and occasionally nonsensical. The book also has an extraordinarily high number of mistakes in the text - I’m guessing this was rushed to market to beat the inevitable XNA book rush. A very talented developer let down by his publisher (and apparent lack of proofreading effort). When does Petzold’s XNA book come out?!

Customer Review: Great Value,Good sound,Fast Delivery
I ordered this product yesterday midday and was amazed that I recieved it lunchtime today. So far am impressed by the sound of these speakers both from my PC and XBOX 360.My main reason for purchasing this is my lg moniter w/s (1440 960 DVI and vga inputs) has no inbuilt speaker system and I run my pc and xbox 360(vga adapter) through it.My pc sounds fine through this system and the xbox 360 sound blew me away(just tryed G.O.W. sofar).I highly recommend this purchase if you have a similar setup to mine or want great sound from your xbox 360.The system is also well designed and stylish silver and black goes with my moniter nicerly :)
