if u use optical 5.1 and have hdmi on ur LCD and ur XBOX , this is a must have. imho hdmi gives more detail then my component or my vga cable at 1080p. if u just buy a hdmi - hdmi leed cheap u should get sound from ur lcd but i aint sure if its DD5.1 . so u need this kit. only thing wrong is its a bit pricey. dont listen to them low star rating people , they r dumb . its like if u bought an american dvd and then complain it dont work on ur british dvd player. this is quite annoying for me as i just bought a nice big 47″ philips 1080p telly and now want some cables but lone behold to my shock i discover that seeing as i went and bought a 360 when it came out i dont have a hdmi port in mine this is a pain as i have two options now i can either a go and use the cables that came with it which dont work with my tv (no sound and wierd humming noise) or buy a new console something i really dont want to do as i quite like mine its never suffered the red ring of death and seeing as its one of the launch consoles thats rare microsoft dropped the ball on this and should atleast release a cable for those of use stuck with these early models that cost more!!!!!!

ok im sure this would be a great cable for 1080p but my 1080i t.v is a different story it says in the retailer review it supports 720p,1080i and 1080p but with my t.v it makes the screen go green cant see a thing when you play a game,using the scart is fine quality thats how i know it isnt the ps3

Before I wrote this review, I read the 1 and 2 star reviews to help me focus on particular areas of the game that may concern some people. I’ll start with the Veteran difficulty. While it is indeed very very challenging, it’s by no means impossible. Such settings are supposed to be unfair tests on one’s grip on sanity; if they think COD4 is hard then they ought to try God of War’s final boss on God Mode. I completed the game on Veteran (including the infamous ‘Mile High Club’ level) and I’m a fairly casual gamer. People have criticised the length of the single player campaign and to a certain extent I agree with them, it is fairly short. However it doesn’t feel short when you’re playing it because every single mission is packed with action and stunning visuals. Neither does it ever feel repetetive; every mission feeling very different to the last. One mission in particular that’s worthy of note is “Ghillies in the mist” which sees you quietly making your way through the abandoned city of Pripyat to a location where you’ll snipe a target from a large distance. This is perhaps the most stunning level i’ve ever seen in a game. The main feature on COD4 is it’s multiplayer, which is superb. The player can create custom classes to use. These classes consist of a primary weapon (of which there is a good selection) and secondary weapon (pistols). You then get to select a perk from each of three menus. Perks are just that. There are perks to suit every player. New skins can be unlocked for you primary weapons by getting the prerquisite number of head shots. Similairly, things like silencers, laser sights, scopes and grenade launchers can be unlocked for primary weapons with kills. Any lag issues must have been patched out because I very rarely experience it. Half of the players tend to forgo the use of a headset (myself being one) so online play is generally devoid of annoying bickering. There is a mute option should you so desire. Get this game. It’s the best shooter at the moment, period.
